What is Physics? This
course provides students with a modern view of the fundamental
concepts of physics and is designed for students who are planning to
major in the sciences, medicine, or engineering. The major
topics covered are covered in detail below. This class
includes extensive laboratory work and written lab reports; the
student is expected to become proficient at collecting, graphing,
and analyzing scientific data. Knowledge of algebra and basic
trig functions is a must. Students are encouraged to take the
SAT II in Physics upon completion of this course.

Note: Some of the topics listed below are
more appropriate for beginning-level high school physics, while
others may be more appropriate for advanced high school courses or
college-level courses.
